The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance today condemned House leadership, including Minority Leader Brad Jones, for failing to stand against a controversial tax bill that paves the way for dramatic tax increases on Boston’s commercial properties.

It’s not very often the Massachusetts legislature has the opportunity to offer amendments, debate, and get recorded votes on important tax policies, but with an appetite by legislative leaders to pass cuts, this opportunity is happening this week.

After months of committee hearings and widespread anticipation, the House has finally produced a bill outlining how they want to spend the federal ARPA funds and the massive surplus of tax dollars collected in 2020.
