In case you missed the news, Governor Maura Healey released her fiscal year 2026 budget this week and it’s loaded with tax hikes that will make Massachusetts even less competitive. 

The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance today expressed serious concerns over Governor Maura Healey’s proposed FY2026 budget, which includes several controversial measures that increase taxes and expand government overreach. 

The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance today condemned House leadership, including Minority Leader Brad Jones, for failing to stand against a controversial tax bill that paves the way for dramatic tax increases on Boston’s commercial properties.

How About Spending Cuts First…

As the Massachusetts Legislature’s Joint Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures, and State Assets hears Governor Maura Healey’s housing bond bill, which includes a tax increase in the form of a local option transfer tax on home sales over a million dollars, the Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance criticized the proposal as counterproductive.
