MassFiscal Statement on Massachusetts Becoming Last State to Keep Golf Courses Closed

Governors in VT and MD Announced Golf Can Resume as Early as Thursday

The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance made the following statement today regarding Massachusetts now becoming the only state in the country that still bans golf without a date set for a safe re-opening. Governor Larry Hogan (R-MD) and Governor Phil Scott (R-VT) announced earlier today that golf will be allowed as early as Thursday morning in their states. The two Governors also opened other recreational activities, such as tennis, that allow users to participate while socially distancing.

“The Governors of Maryland and Vermont were right to announce that golf and other activities in their states can re-open as early as Thursday morning. Governor Baker needs to put his faith in the people of Massachusetts to be able to safely enjoy these essential outdoor recreational activities,” stated Paul D. Craney, spokesperson for Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance.
