Saving our small businesses

Executive orders have Main St, Massachusetts under siege.

Last month when the MassFiscal team reached out and asked members and supporters to contact Governor Charlie Baker and tell him to begin the reopening process you answered the call. Beacon Hill leaders heard your voice, loud and clear, and when it came time for the Governor’s executive order to expire, he was forced to finally give details on his thoughts on reopening.

Unfortunately for the people of Massachusetts, Governor Baker’s plan picks winners and losers. Our local small businesses have been completely left behind and forced to remain closed while chain retailers and big box stores have been open throughout the shutdown. Many of these small businesses will been forced to operate in the red for 100 days straight before they are allowed to reopen. Many of our favorite retail stores, lodging facilities, restaurants, bars, gyms, and museums will simply go out of business. We’re seeing new closures every day.

We CAN’T let our favorite Main Street businesses be the next victim to the Governor’s lopsided re-opening plan. They are the backbone of our communities and our state economy. Our favorite retail stores, lodging facilities, restaurants, bars, gyms, and museums have always stepped up for us, now we must take action for them.

Please contact the Governor and Lt. Governor and tell them to save our small businesses and let them safely REOPEN NOW!
